The current Adult Quick Start programme has two sessions. Start with essential techniques, then practise reading patterns and making a small project.
- SESSION 1 / THE FUNDAMENTALS
Get to know your hook and yarn.
Tools and yarn basics, how to hold your hook, slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. Hands-on practice and stitch correction, with a simple coaster project.
- SESSION 2 / READ PATTERNS & EXPAND SKILLS
Take the next stitch.
Magic ring, increases and decreases, reading crochet symbols, and finishing techniques. Small projects include a flower coaster or a crochet dumpling.
Projects progress at each learner’s pace. The programme describes what is covered; completion of a particular project in one lesson is not guaranteed.
